Intesa is small and nimble San Diego public relations firm serving clients coast-to-coast. We are lean by design, and rely on technology to help us serve our clients and run our business more efficiently. Here are a few apps and products that help us do business on the go, and have recently earned our loyalty:
Genius Scan: Ever need to get a document to someone, but can’t get your hands on a scanner, or simply don’t know how to work the one in your office? Genius Scan enables you to scan a document, receipt, etc, and email the scan as a PDF. This has saved me more times than I can count.
Dropbox: I don’t know what it is about Dropbox in San Diego. Over the past four months, I have had more folks ask to share something with me via this free service than in my four years in DC. With Dropbox, any file you save to your Dropbox will automatically save to all your computers, phones and the Dropbox website. It’s a brilliant, handy resource.
Freshbooks: Dave has long been a fan of Freshbooks, a cloud accounting and time-tracking service that allows you to access your books from anywhere, on just about every device you can think of. I like that we can track client hours in real time when we’re out of the office. Clients like that they are assigned log-in permissions, enabling them to view their account status at their leisure. We can’t say enough about Freshbooks–it’s a must-have for small business owners.
iPad Mini: The original iPad was just too heavy and large to be practical for me. My primary computer is an 11 inch Mac Book Air, so it was pointless for me to have a tablet that weighed more! But the iPad Mini (32 GB; Wi-Fi & 3G) is my new best friend–even replacing my Kindle as my go-to reading device. It fits in my purse without adding extra weight or screaming for someone to steal it. If you thought the iPad was not for you, take a look at the Mini.
