I recently joined the San Diego chapter of the International Association of Business Communicators (IABC). Today, they published my guest post, “Three lessons I learned while starting a PR firm with my husband.” Here’s a teaser:
When my husband and I announced this summer that we were moving from Washington D.C. to San Diego to start a PR firm together, a lot of people asked, “Do you like each other that much?” We do, actually. I’m a fan of professional associations in general, but when you’ve just moved to a new town, they are a great way to meet new folks, stay on top of industry trends and get plugged into the local community. I’m looking forward to getting to know San Diego PR pros via IABC; I’ll keep you posted on who I meet and what I learn!
